As I sat down to write the President’s message, I am ready to say Merry
Christmas, but by the time you receive this newsletter, Christmas 2009 will be
history. However, I can wish you the very best in 2010 and Happy Painting.
Thanks to everyone who worked on the Christmas luncheon, it was a wonderful,
successful and enjoyable party.
Our January meeting will be on January 6, 2010 at the Inman House at 7:30 p.m.
We look forward to seeing all of you there. Please plan to attend.
Our next major event will be the CAPA convention in March. For convention
information check your November/December issue of the CAPA Newsletter. It is
time to start or finish painting your convention display piece. Let go for the
100% participation $50.00 prize. If you know of any college student who is
majoring in Art or an art-related field, tell them about the CAPA $500.00 scholarship
and encourage them to apply. The scholarship application is in the
November/December issue of the CAPA Newsletter. Make a copy and give it to
them.
Bring your Friendship cup to the meeting. Prior to the meeting, divide your cup
into seven (7) or eight (8) approximately equal selections and put your name on
it. The dividing lines and your name must be fired on. We will trade cups during
the next eightclub meetings, or longer, if needed.
If there is anyone who has a burning desire to work on the by-laws, please
contact Mary Denny. I would love to have you join the by-law team.
Who would like to serve on the 2010-2011 nominating committee? We need to
put together a nominating committee to develop a slate of officers for 2010-2011.
This slate of officers will need to work very closely with the 2011 CAPA state
convention committee.
Here’s wishing you the best in 2010—HAPPY NEW YEAR!
